A few things to consider:
- Helmets are strongly encouraged.
- The pace will be leisurely, but please come prepared for the distance in adequate dress, shoes, etc. for your needs.
- All Metropolis-supported rides adhere to cycling traffic laws – we do not ride on the sidewalk.
- Children are welcome in bike seats and/or trailers. Any child riding independently needs to be capable of riding 15 miles and riding in the road. (Children 12 and under ride free – please leave a note on your ticket purchase if you are bringing children so that we can plan ahead).
Why we Pride:
It’s no secret that bike shops are dominantly run by cis-white men (Metropolis is no exception) and have a history of being intimidating and even hostile environments toward anyone not fitting the mold. Since the beginning, we strive to be something different. Simply put, biking is more fun when every body and every identity participates and it’s been our mission to ensure that we are authentic allies by creating an inclusive, approachable shop for all people. There is no alternative.
We pride for you all, we pride for our families, our partners, our friends.
